Mobius is leaving the game.
I have spoken to him about his reasons, and although it's pretty clear he took issue to the activities of my own account, it seems we cleared the issue up before it was too late.
If you direct your attention to the Bug Reporting forum, I have been posting some warnings about inherent bugs in all accounts. Yesterday, I was up until 5am fixing them all.
My own account received a fantastic 1.5million growth, and -5,000,000 attack power.
There was a handful of new accounts that were gifted with godlike powers too
It's all fixed now, to my knowledge. The level function is subject to row locking and transactions, so thread concurrency and race conditions are negligible now.
A few people, not just Mobius, have complained over the past few years about my account.
The thing is, I NEED my account to be at the top of the leaderboard, because there are a lot of things in the game that require it - and I MUST be able to test them all!
For instance, point transfers, guild creation, skills, items, quest missions, etc.
It is simply not plausible to make my account a tiny little level 1 character hidden from the game.
It turns out that when it comes down to it, Mobius is just a bit tired now. I've told him to stick holiday mode on to prolong his account's protection.
It's no big deal really. Players come and go. I wouldn't be surprised if he returned in a few months time to see if anything has changed.
I just didn't want anybody to think I was a big cheat, because I'm not.
Think about it. Why would I want to cheat at a game I have full control over? I could be #1 in 15 seconds, but then it would spoil the fun. It is an imperative for me to maintain fairness, and I don't think anybody can fault me for that
By the way, these new Item Sets are great It is so easy to make items now. The quest is going to be so much better other the next few days!

Yeah while i have been playing this game (since round 1) ive seen alot of good players come and go, only a couple kept on playing and helping out, just hope mobius comes back every so often to have a look around and see whats happening.
And i really cannot see why people complain about your level, very few people get to that high exp and the people who complain are just the one's who are jealous of your power.
*edit* will this be the fall of El Rukn ?

I think some people see me as an account that means they will never be able to hit #1.
I am happy to hide my account so they feel they stand a chance.
I suspect he will come back.
The problem with the people at the top is, they have a lot of pressure to stay there, and the only way they think they can escape that pressure is to announce they are quitting.
These players should be added to the Hall of Fame, so their effort is not forgotten and they don't feel as much pressure to maintain their position just so everybody knows how good they are

Yeah if the players hold the postion in the top 5 for a set amount of time then they should be recognized for their achievements, dont waste your time hiding your account it just shows people they have won and forces you out of this game and just makes you a lonely dev that just works on the site and doesnt use it.

pffft, there is no need for that.
you just take your current account to play and create an account named: "Big Mean Admin" and hide that from the tables but visible everywhere else. so you can use it for the tests.
but tbh i think complaining about your account is just silly and if ppl want to get/keep a high lvl they just have to work for it.

Evidentally, that is what I may end up doing.
I need a way to test things without arousing suspicion.
I suppose I could mirror the game and create all of the test accounts on that, but it's timeconsuming.
I think I should just remove the whole spectator functionality and make another account.
I thought this way would be easier, but it might lead to peculiarities in the code.
I'll just make another admin account called TestAccount, and explain on the profile why it might behave strangely, and how I won't reply to any messages or guild requests sent to it.
I'll drop the level of it down to 1 every time I don't need it.
That's probably the best way to go.
