Cash is the primary currency, so you upgrade and buy items with cash(unless you want to trade with a player for points).
The "Special Item Credits" is not a new point system. They are just vouchers preferred players can save up at choose their special items with - which they are ent*tled to, since they are kinda keeping the game online
At no point is this another currency. It's just so that preferred players can wait until they have enough to buy the more impressive items, and not waste them on the items that require less credits.
It will not be visible in-game at all.
Some of the most interesting special items WILL be available to non-paying players, and I recognise that a game that restricts everything is no fun - that is why I will not be restricting them all.
There may be a few PP/Compet*tion winner unique items, but there will be equivalents(not the same) in the quest if this is the case.
Generally, text-based RPGs focus on points as a money making oportunity... I just don't understand why you don't use points for the better items... this was you make more money, and the game becomes point based.
Cash currency is fine for the "average" items.

I actually have plans to sell some items for real money/points eventually(but only rare, powerful, perishable or novelty ones), so this isn't really needed. FYI The Armoury may become point based once the quest has enough content to hold it's own in the item department.
I didn't want to make points too intertwined in the game, because it confuses people.
It was only last week that you were all telling me, Cash is pointless. Nothing to spend it on.
Points are important. Too rare. Too expensive.
Now, you tell me: Cash is used too much, points are too cheap, points are worthless.
Well, little has changed with points, except bank allowance, but the exp gaining side is still there(along with the other point center options).
Cash is important again. It makes your items better. It will be used a lot more in the near future too.

I don't like it. But hey, you're the boss.
Games that are point based usually do better because it is more of a compet*tion. You can't attack someones points away...
I think you should re-think this part over.

You can't attack someone's banked cash away either.
I don't see what the difference is.
