Welllll I tried signing up on yarold to see if I could maybe play along abit until I at least get my Objectives taken care of.
So I tried to register, and am waiting on my activation link. I didn't really know that in 2013, sending a simple activation link e-mail could take longer than 0.0001 seconds but it's been a few hours now, and imo, if they can't figure out how to send me a link to activate my account, then I probably don't even WANT to be registered there, lol
I tried!
Edit: I am paying 5 points per click on my link! Click away folks
I didn't really know that in 2013 having common manners was still an issue. If you can't work out how to ask nicely for help at Yarolds, then I probably don't WANT you to be registered there
Yarolds Admin
Rawrrrrrr, looks like someone took a little offense to what I wrote. I will also let you know my best educated guess on why I didn't get said e-mail, in case you ever want to check out if it is indeed an error, but that's on you. Perhaps then you can re-read my previous post and not get as offended.
Let me explain: I don't really care about my clicks per day. I care a tiny bit about completing my Objectives, of which some involve getting X (1000/2500/etc) clicks per month, which I can't do with my current methods of clicking everyone's link in this game and hoping I get enough returns to hit 1000/2500/etc.
I made a thread to ask more about how it works. Someone gave me a great answer, thanks. I knew about yarolds and knew it was a great place, so I had a few minutes today to kill to go check it out. I read about how it works. I then decided this could be worth my effort to achieve my Objectives (remember, I don't care THAT much, so I didn't want to do tons of work just to get them done either).
First, I tried the "forget my pa**word" stuff. The website said they have no record of my account. I register. It tells me to activate the link I get. I check e-mail. I have no e-mail. I wait. Still no e-mail. Since GMail rocks like that, I put in "yarold" in the search and discovered I had made an account on December 17, 2008 (back when I started playing FRP). I wait and wait and get no e-mail, tried re-sending my pa**word and it now tells me I'm waiting to be activated and to click the e-mail I got. All in all, this whole process went past my "give a crap" level on completing these objectives, and therefore I just called it quits there. Yes, I could've signed up on your forums and went down a goose chase and waiting on answers and trying diff things, etc. but the fact of the matter is: That's all WAYYYYY too much work than I wanted to do. THAT is why I didn't ask for any help, Mr. Yarold Admin.
And lastly, my theory on why I didn't get the e-mail: Because I made an account long ago, I was in your system already once. I'm guessing after X time period of inactivity, you somehow deactivate accounts or remove them from list of "active accounts" or something of that sort. Now in 2013, I'm trying to create another account, and it tries to send me another e-mail, but I'm hypothesizing that somewhere along the way, the fact that I had a previous account long ago somehow prevented me from receiving this wonderful e-mail I was hoping for.
So there you have it. Please don't be so offended because I didn't take extra steps to solve a problem your website is having. It simply wasn't a big enough deal to me to get the issue resolved, and I'm smart enough to know that whatever this issue I'm having is something that you don't care about either (your site has been running for YEARS, if this was an issue affecting more than just me, I'm sure it would've been solved by now).
