I propose that the ability to use Skill Points for other upgrades be added to the game. Examples would be using a skill point to permanently increase your Attack, Speed, Hp's, or Max Turns. Obviously the specifics would have to be worked out but this would allow players that are lower level to increase stats if they want to get more power into their SKL attacks maybe be able to attack above their station, or maybe increase their Base max turns to get more raids or attacks in.
This will also allow people above level 150 who have all these skill points collected to be able to use them for something useful...

This definitely makes sense. No reason to have such an overstock on skill points. Even if it adds a minute amount to overall stats, it's definitely better than nothing.
Or perhaps make more skills... the list is pretty short.

Yeah, that has been my concern with skill points. They do add up after a while. The planned skill changes are meant to bring in a baseline of four categories, with 6 skills in the first three, and around 4 in the last one. There's also an additional category for skills learned from questing and completing objectives.

- ??? (potentially unlimited)
I'm not settled on the names of the skill categories yet. At the moment, I'm not planning on a tree system, because such a thing necessitates us knowing what all of the skills will be in advance, and I'd rather have the option to add/remove/modify them gradually, as each of them are implemented.
Skills will be trained with skill points as normal, but they'll take varying amounts to max them out, rather than them all requiring 10. This will eat up a lot more of them, and force players to differentiate.
I do like the idea of having certain aspects of your character improved directly, such as turns, etc., but I wonder if this couldn't be implemented in the skill system via pa**ive skills (skills you don't need to cast, which are active permanently).
As with everything on this game, it needs a little bit of thought. Ultimately though, I think we'd all be better off if we just threw stuff at the wall and kept whatever sticked

I think BBM he was referring to pa**ive skills, not castables.
I like the idea of different maximums, it'll definitely change things up. Maybe by level 100 you get 2 skill points per level, since the gaps between levels are higher?
