Oh.. come on, people! This isn't difficult to figure out...
If you were the creator of a game, would you like your members advertising other games all over yours?
No, of course not. It takes a little bit of common sense and some courtesy to realise that ..in a way, that's downright rude. Thus, why most games ban a person/account when that happens.
Private profiles, personal websites, and private messaging is where this 'advertising' business should be conducted. At least, in my opinion, I regard those as the best places for it to be done.

It certainly drives us nuts when people start doing that.
I don't mind people discussing other games on the forum's off-topic section though.
