Hello, I'm looking for some suggestions/feedback on a new mini-game that I'm adding to the game this week. Essentially, this is how it works (you may notice its similarity to something we once had):

Minimum players: 10 (less than this results in rollover to next hour)
Minimum bet: 100,000 Cr
Maximum bet: 50,000,000 Cr

- Draw is performed hourly.
- Users may add to their bid, but not remove it.
- Reward is sent to temporary storage.
- Log shows latest winners, and the amount that was won.
- Bonus amount increases with average bid amount?
- Maximum bid increases with total bidders?
- Total winners increases with total bidders?

Players get to bet an amount of Credits (which they can increase later if they want), and every hour, a few winners are picked out of a hat. The winners will receive their original amount back, plus a bonus.

The bonus is a percentage of the amount they bet. For instance, if the bonus were 150%, you'd get your original money back, plus another half!

I thought that it might be nice if the mini-game scaled as more players entered. For example, the more players that place a bet, the more winners there'll be. In addition, the more players, the higher the bid can be.

There was also the idea of making the bonus % increase/decrease with the average bid.

If you have any suggestions about this mini-game, please let me know here! (smiley)

EDIT: Certain special events could add extra rewards for winners, such as extra items, etc.

It was less that I took it off, and more that I didn't reimplement it when we moved to round 4. It was a bit too generous too.(smiley)

the main thing for me is it seems like a bad bet... with the point raffle your chance to win is directly proportional to how many points you'll be winning, and the lottery is a bad return on chance (usually) but the fact the prize goes up the more tickets are purchased and that there are rollovers makes it a interesting enough to play.

With this however, the prize is fixed, your odds of winning probably wont justify the payout (unless 2/3 of the people who entered win), and your odds get worse if more people play. That's something I could see a casino do xD

There would have to be (well, not have to, I suppose, but I believe there should) more incentive. Some kind of sliding scale bonus, or other things like bonus items and whatnot, as you mentioned.

Ah, there is already some basic work to combat that:
- For every 5 extra players, there's 1 extra winner, so the odds hang roughly at 1 in 5 chance.
- The more players, and the higher the average bid, the more the bonus increases.

The baseline bonus is currently 150% (so you get your money back, plus half extra). The more risky and active the lottery round is, the higher the bonus. I'm sure it's not without its flaw still though. Feedback would be greatly appreciated (smiley)
