- Preliminary work on player item vault page
Sun Nov 13 14:48:06 EST 2011
Features still pending:
- List view, stacked view.
- Withdraw/deposit restrictions.
- Sort/filter UI.
- Log viewer.
- Per user max slot limit, expandable via Upgrade Centre.
It (appears) to be working adequately, it just needs some polish.
If anyone has a suggestion about restricting deposits/withdrawls of items from the player vault, please post them here. The player vault must not be as fluid as the backpack -- there must be limits/restrictions put in place to make it a place that you only tend to deposit things you aren't going to be using any time soon into.

Sounds nice. An obvious suggestion would be to take credits for deposits. And as well, take credits to withdraw your item. You can restrict it by a certain number of withdraws and deposits per day as well, though as this is a Vault, where players will keep items they don't tend to use, but may find useful in the future, this feature won't come into play often.
All I can think of atm A pretty generic idea you have undoubtedly thought of already.

Yeah, the whole idea of this item vault will be long term storage. I really need to reinforce the idea that you can't just use it to juggle items between your backpack. This is so close to being finished, it's ridiculous that I've left it for so long
It works, but it has none of the restrictions we need set up yet. I think that's all that is left to do for it.

Would a timer not work?
Say if you put Inc helm into vault, you wont be able to withdraw it for another 12 hours.
Obviously the timer can be reduced/Increased as required.

That's not that bad of a way to do it. Perhaps it could cost more to withdraw it, the earlier it is that you try to do so. For instance, if you've left it in for weeks, it would cost almost nothing to withdraw, but if you only put it in 2 hours ago, you'd have to pay a more to get it out.
I don't know. I think these mechanisms will be part of the solution, but it clearly needs more thought.
