- [Feedback] Huge FutureRP task list!
Wed Oct 26 18:10:44 EDT 2011
As you might expect, I have rather a lot of tasks to complete on the game The list continues to grow at a rate faster than I can complete them, which is nice, because it suggests that there is a steady stream of ideas
Here is a huge list of FutureRP tasks that are pending completion :
If you have any suggestions for additional tasks to add to the list, don't hesitate to post them here!

This post probably belongs in the World Building topic, but I will leave it here, to remind you and others of this thread
What about a portal for the World Builder, in which we can place player ID's to grant access? It would take a larger amount of time than a simple pa**word I suppose. But this completely removes the worry of pa**word sharing. I find this way more efficient in ensuring that certain players cannot access your map.

Don't we have that already? Damn, that's so easy to implement it that we should have it by now
It's basically a copy/paste of the pa**word portal action, but with the pa**words being replaced with numeric player IDs.
To be more user-friendly, I guess it would be better to have you type in their username, and for the back-end to do the ID conversion, but for now, pasting IDs would probably suffice.
We're still waiting on the portal-if-item-owned-or-equipped action, which allows doorways demanding keys, secret membership rings, and possibly areas that you can't access without having a gas mask or radiation suit equipped
It makes for better storylines, IMHO.

Yeah that's all interesting
Using player usernames requires you to sometimes change it up, if they change it. User ID never changes. If you do this, better allow it more than 15 ID's, like the pa**word protection only allows 15 pa**words..

Yes, but you'd use the username to specify which player to allow through, but the game just uses it to get the ID. If the username changes, the game doesn't care

I think the point is with players usernames always changing in game it would be a pain in the butt to keep up with those players that change them all the time to have to go in and change the username all the time.
If it is Player ID you never have to worry about. Plus It gives us a lot more control over who we want in and out.
Maybe have 2 different access options. White list and black list. White list are the good id#s to let on map and Blacklist the id#s you do not want to give access too.
Also have a addon to that with guild access. A check box. So anyone that is in guild also has access to maps but you do not have to enter the ids of all your guildies.
