- Element's anyone?

Just an idea I thought of while severely sleep-deprived.
Has it been suggested before to add elements to each player? Like, when starting, along with choosing your race you can also choose an elemental affinity. I'm sure we all know how the element circle works. Each element would gain a bonus while attacking a weaker element, but then also that same element would be dealt a disadvantage when attacking a stronger element.
I would think this would add a whole new level of game play. Especially if the element was also applied to the guild. Like if so many members of the guild are a certain element then the guilds element would be that element by default. That would make it possible for a weaker guild (in terms of attack power) to actually beat a guild with more attack power.
This may add a new level of strategy to the game as well. Instead of a guild only allowing in the strongest applicants they can focus on the element of those applicants in order to either change their element or reinforce the element they already are in order to beat a stronger guild. It might be possible that this could help even out the guilds. Instead of the same one or two guilds always on top, now a weaker guild would have an opportunity to take out the stronger ones. True, at this point there really in no great advantage in guild vs guild raiding, but maybe that aspect of the game can be improved upon as well.

This sounds similar to Elemental attributes that some other games employ in their items.
A water element item would have an advantage over a fire item, for instance.
The idea is sound. The implementation would have to be easy to grasp though, or it would confuse people as to the effectiveness of their weaponry.
