I can't tag this as a bug, so I'm not yet sure whether to fill in a bug report on the bug tracker or not.

(This relates to issue #71 on the bug tracker, [Community/Forum] New forum post notification {Feature Request}. I know this will not get fixed now, ...it is just an idea.)

Basically, I *think* the behavior of edited forum posts would be to determine the whole thread (and implicitly the whole forum section) to be marked as unread ("yellow").

Since this does not occur, I'm wondering if cyberkilla thought this should be the deafult behavior for edited forum posts.

I was helped in my experiment by darkrising:

- I went to the guild forum and created a new thread in one of the sections.
- My a**istant (smiley) previously had all forum sections marked as read.
- The new thread determined the "general" section to turn to yellow.
- He read the new thread and came back to the "all sections read (white)" state.
- I edited the post in my new thread.
- He checked the guild forum index again. According to my logic (which may be as well b0rken) - the "general" section should have been marked as read (yellow). It was white.

Thoughts?

I could have sworn edited posts make the thread 'unread' again.

I've often went into a thread only to see a post with "EDITED x times".

I'll have to check this out.

Thank you. I thought it was natural to have this kind of behavior. Because edited posts can make a lot of difference.
