The weirdest thing happened today... and unfortunately I can't isolate it.

I had about 4 items in the trade block (for points) and asked people to PM me when making a new offer. I was using Opera for attacking (it's moving faster) when I received a message from somebody having had offered me some points for one of my items.

I switched to FF and logged in to be able to reply to the message. The first thing I did, however, was to accept the transaction; then I wrote the message (something like 'you're welcome'). The guy received his item and equipped it and I was perplexed seeing my points... weren't there.

So apparently the transaction was accepted, except I didn't get payed.

Fortunately, the guy was fair play and sent me another message asking whether I received my points or not, because he saw he had the same amount as before. I said no, he transferred me the points, then we agreed to do a little test.

I asked him to put one of his cheap items in the trade block and offered 5 points for it. While the offer was locked, I had 5 points substracted from my total amount of points. He accepted the offer and everything... went fine. I got the cheap item and he got the 5 points.

So this is not something I'm able to reproduce, which is bad a**. It doesn't seem to happen often either... all my points transactions so far have been flawless. I wondered if anyone else experienced this.

(I also gave the browser switching / re-logging in details not knowing if this has any relevance.)

This seems to be the most detestable kind of bug - the one us testers call it "trust me, I know it's there" (smiley)

I don't like the sound of this one

I'll be sure to check this out. I'll report back today.

EDIT:
Wait a minute, he wouldn't have the same amount of points because it takes them from you when you make the offer

EDIT2:
I've checked it and it looks pretty simplistic.
Select Points, Give points to Player.

The shifting of the items is done immediately after this, which makes it even more odd.

I know, if you have, say, 100 points and place an offer of 5 points, until your offer is reviewed your points will show 95. Only if the offer is rejected you will have all 100 points again.

Argh, I know. I'm mad I can't isolate the problem. When I did with this player a 'test' transaction, it all went fine. Points were deducted, then the offer was accepted and I received the item and he received the points.

It would be a good idea though to ask him if he remembers if he had the points deducted in the interval [new offer submitted -> offer accepted (by me)].

I feel like I need to have another sweep of the trade block, cleaning it up.

OK, I sent a message to the player I've experienced the trade block error with to check out this thread and tell us whether he initially had the points deducted when he made the offer and then got back both my item and his points or if the points were never deduced at all from his initial amount of points.

Hopefully, when he'll come online he'll read the PM and post a reply here.
